Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1st 2025 Last Updated: June 25th 2025

Got Gophers (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website GotGophers.co. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to information collected through the Site.

By using our Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We keep the information we collect through the Site to a minimum. We collect only two types of information:

A. Contact form submissions When you voluntarily fill out and submit our contact form, we collect the information you enter — which may include your name, email address, phone number, and any message or details you provide about your pest control needs. We do not collect this information unless you choose to submit the form.

B. Website traffic analytics We use Google Analytics to understand general traffic patterns on our Site, such as which pages are viewed, how visitors navigate the Site, and aggregate/anonymized information like browser type or general location. This data is automatically collected and is not tied to your name or contact information unless you separately submit the contact form.

We do not collect payment information, service addresses, or other personal details through the Site. (Any such information exchanged when you engage us for service — by phone, in person, or via invoice — is handled separately from the Site and is outside the scope of this policy.)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Respond to inquiries submitted through the contact form
  • Follow up regarding quotes or service requests you initiate
  • Understand and improve how visitors use our Site

We do not use this information for any other purpose.

3. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

Got Gophers does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for money or any other valuable consideration, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

4. Google Analytics and Data Sharing

We use Google Analytics solely to measure Site traffic and usage. We have configured our Google Analytics account with all optional data-sharing settings turned off, including sharing with Google for benchmarking, technical support, sales, and advertising personalization (Google Signals / ads personalization is disabled). This means:

  • We do not use Google Analytics data to build advertising profiles
  • We do not enable Google to associate Analytics data with a visitor’s Google account for ad targeting
  • Analytics data is used by us only for internal traffic reporting

You can further limit analytics collection by using your browser’s cookie settings, a browser extension such as Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on, or “Do Not Track” settings, if supported.

5. How We Share Information

We do not share contact form submissions with any third party, except:

  • Service providers that host our Site, operate our contact form, or provide email delivery — solely to make the Site function, and only to the extent necessary for that purpose
  • Legal requirements, if required by law, subpoena, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our business or others

Google Analytics data is shared with Google only to the minimum extent required to operate the analytics service itself, with all optional sharing settings disabled as described in Section 4.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information submitted through the Site. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain contact form submissions only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and maintain reasonable business records, after which they are deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Even though Got Gophers falls below the California Consumer Privacy Act’s (CCPA) applicability thresholds and does not sell or share personal information, you may still:

  • Request access to any contact form information we hold about you
  • Request deletion of that information
  • Ask us not to contact you again regarding a prior inquiry

To make any of these requests, contact us using the information in Section 11.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
